Oh, Humanity! Where Are We Going?
We were so arrogant as humans, so very arrogant.
We thought we were the masters of the entire universe.
We showed off the pseudo-kingdoms we had built.
We stepped on nature, on the animals, and even on each other to surpass them all.
Then one tiny virus came along and reminded us that it was actually us who already possessed the virus.
And a system filled with utter compassion reminded us of itself in the most delicate manner possible. Yes, considering all things that might happen, this is actually quite delicate! Imagine that the fatality rate was 30% rather than 2%. Would we sit in our homes so easily?
Who knows what we might do to each other for the sake of survival. This is the legacy of our base genetics, which goes hand in hand with the lie that says, “Only the strong survive.”
Sure, you might survive, but could you still call yourself human, seeing as you weren’t there for the weak when they needed you the most?
If you used your “power” simply for your own survival, so you could show off by saying “The strong always survive,” could we still call you a human?
This was the system we built on this planet, a system based on power, on crushing each other to survive.
Then along came a bat who said, “Hey, humanity! What are you up to? Where are you going?” A bat is also a sort of solid stick in English, and in the Basque language, it means “one.” The system, nature, and the Creator says, “Humanity, Be One—Unite as One.” They show us the stick, and you decide what it is according to your own beliefs.
Just one virus where race, social position, and wealth are irrelevant. Nothing matters.
Although it may not seem like it right now, this might be a great blessing for all of humanity.
How come? It took over our lives!
Which life?
Was it the life of constant anxiety when you felt under threat?
Was it the life where we gazed at each other on the street with suspicion, where although we kept our distance, we contaminated each other with all kinds of mental viruses?
Or was it the times when we bloated our bodies by stuffing food down our throats, because we constantly felt under threat and were scared of starving, only to try and lose the weight by exercising like hamsters in the gym?
Right now we are praying for a vaccine, so the threat can be diffused and everything will go back to normal.
What kind of a life do we hope to return to when that vaccine is found?
Is it the life where we lived in an infinite state of lockdown and quarantine, the one this virus is rubbing our faces in?
Is it the so-called-life where the strong suffocate the weak, where politicians melt everyone’s brains, and where we waste countless hours watching multi-million-dollar football players carry a ball?
Have you noticed that they are all gone now! All of a sudden, there are no politicians, no billionaires, no film stars, no football players, or anything else. They are gone, and there is only humanity.
Yes, there is still anxiety, but there are people singing on their balconies to support each other, applauding the healthcare workers, and noticing the beauty around them more and more.
Inside us, we have the one that produces and creates, and it is peaceful, supportive, and capable of reflecting on what’s deep in our souls. And there is also the one who destroys and destructs. This goes for all of us, period!
There are infinite possibilities within the moment, and what we look at is what we amplify as observers.
Here is the real question: Now that we have been presented with one of the greatest opportunities in humanity’s history, where are we going?
What kind of a reality will we choose to witness?
If we return to the old one, the next wave may not be as loving and caring, because if you refuse to wake up, the slap on your face will get harder each time.
But what if we choose another reality? How will we proceed toward the novel, the unknown, the divine?
This is the real question at hand, and the first step is to connect, to connect with ourselves.
This needs to be done in a truly sincere manner without faking it—without falling into the traps of lust, negativity, or righteousness—just by speaking the simple truth.
It is this sincerity that will carry us toward the divine, the one that exists always within us. And at that moment, our bond will get stronger, our immunity will peak, and no physical or mental virus will be able to reach us in our very being.
But if we look for a way out in the form of a vaccine developed by a pharmaceutical company, good luck to us all! If we continue to repeat the same mistakes, bid farewell to this humanity.
This is the perfect time to ask a question: Oh, humanity! Where are we going?
